Demetris Demetriou
Managing Director
Demetris is a highly experienced Certified Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of post-qualification expertise. He holds the distinction of being the Lifetime President of DFK International, a unique honor he received for his exceptional contributions to the network.
Demetris co-founded DFK Demetriou Trapezaris and served as Managing Director from 1992. In 2017, he joined Demetriou & Associates Business Advisers, further expanding his professional portfolio. Notably, he became the first and only individual from Cyprus to be appointed President of DFK International in 2014, solidifying his reputation within the network. In recognition of his outstanding achievements, he was later named DFK Lifetime President.
With his extensive experience in auditing, taxation, and consulting, Demetris is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). He has made significant contributions to the field, having previously served as a member of the council of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAC) in Cyprus and actively participated in various Technical Committees. Currently, he is acting as President of the Small and Medium Size Firms committee of ICPAC. Moreover, Demetris possesses expertise in both corporate and personal insolvency matters as an approved insolvency practitioner.
Demetris serves as a trusted advisor to numerous companies across diverse industries. His astute business acumen and broad perspective have earned him a position on the Board of Directors of one of the largest Construction Companies in Cyprus, where he contributes his strategic insights and financial expertise.
During the early stages of his career, Demetris gained valuable experience working for a prominent firm in London's West End before establishing himself in Cyprus, where he contributed to renowned Big 4 firms such as Coopers & Lybrand (later PwC) and Arthur Andersen (later Deloitte in Cyprus).
